II.                INTRODUCTION

Information and Communication Technology (ICT) is a crucial component in the Technical aspect of teaching and learning process, contributing to their quality and performance. This course is designed to develop the capacities of professionals in the implementation, planning and development of the ICT aspects of the school. The principal aim will be to impart the skills required to find practical solutions for innovative and on the track development of the teacher by using ICT. The focus will be on two main areas of the ICT; Use of Microsoft Office Application and “ICT MADE EASY” New Trends in using ICT.

 

III.           OBJECTIVES

a.    enhance and equip new skills on using Microsoft Offices Application and

b.   Update the teachers on the new trends of innovative way of handling ICT Activities.

IV.            COURSE METHODOLOGY

 

a.     WHO ATTENDS THIS COURSE?

The course is designed for Teachers of Kibia Central Elementary School. Participants should give their full participation and should be interested in applying ICT to improve their teaching performance. Course learning materials and lectures will be offered online and offline. The following requirements are therefore essential for participation in this course: the ability to access and use a computer with or without an internet connection; a working knowledge to learn more about using the Microsoft Office Applications.

b.     WHAT WILL I LEARN?

This course is in line with the DepEd ICT Standard on Information and Communication Technology as a framework for assessing challenges and identifying innovations.

·        ICT concepts and the value in using ICT-based activities.

·        Types of ICT-related services; Microsoft software development.

·        Mobile technologies: key mechanisms to implement ICT-based services.

c.     WHAT WILL I BE ABLE TO DO?

·        Understand core approaches to improve teaching through ICT based on best practice

·        Identify the best value of having the skills of ICT.

·        Utilize the time given during Work from Home to enhance the ICT Skills.

·        Develop more productive output after learning the course.

d.     WHY SHOULD I JOIN?

·        Join and interact online/offline with a network of professionals from other organizations to share learning and best practices

·        This new e-learning course consists of a blend of online resources on good practices and offline resources, “real time” interactive sessions led by highly experienced trainers, individual and collaborative group exercises using accessible platform.

·        Successful candidates receive a Certificate of Achievement.

e.     HOW?

The course consists of a number of offline modules offered through the eClass online and offline platform to be completed over a period of five weeks starting from May 10 to June 2021, for an estimated total of 52 learning hours. The course is broken down into three phases.

  • Pre-course learning: Flexible (asynchronous) self-guided offline learning on eClass and an end of phase assessment.
  • “Real time” learning: Offline interactive sessions and engaging video presentations by highly experienced trainers, with individual exercises, peer-to-peer assessment and online technical forums on eClass.
  • End of course assignment: Individual assignment applying the knowledge they have learn in the course. Participants who successfully complete all assessments and the final assignment will receive a Certificate of Achievement.
